His personality is so big, and it is all in that compact little body of his. A few stories to share:
- Cooper went to the park with his Daddy yesterday afternoon. I was working from home, and post-(no)nap Cooper needed to be out of the house while mommy was on conference calls, so to the park he went (on his trike... being pushed by Steve, cause his feet don't reach the peddles, but oh he loves to ride his bike). When they got there a little girl was there. The little girl was the older sister of one of the kids from his play school class (relevant later)... Cooper went up to her and looked at her, and then said "Cooper's pocket" while pointing out his sweatshirt pocket. Quite the ladies' man.
- As this little girl is the sibling of a classmate of Cooper's and his nanny who was at the park is also the one who brings the classmate to playschool, she thought Coop looked familiar. She said "I think I know you" to which Coop responded "Meow" and she replied "Yep, I know you." Yes, our child it THAT kid, recognizable as the "meower."
- Cooper has taken to adorning himself in facial "hair." Randomly, about a week ago, a few days after he required bandaids for his knee (see last post), he took one of the bandaids and instead of placing it on his knee, he placed it on his upper lip, and then went "mustache!" I almost died laughing. Since then, he has requested a "mustache" or a "little mustache" or a "beard" practically every morning. (little mustache is created using mini-bandaids). We have grown accustomed to it, but on a bike ride last week after work I realized others might not be used to it, as our neighbor saw him fully adorned in facial hair and looked both puzzled and amused as we passed. Pictures to come. They are taken and awaiting uploading.... OH, and when he has a mustache, he will sometimes say "Good day, Sir."
- Cooper has realized that, facial hair or not, he is one fine specimen. Seriously, he now runs to the full-length mirror and spends 10-15 minutes making faces at himself, hamming it up. There are smudge marks on the mirror at his height. I need to get a video of this.
- Last night, I was rocking Coop to bed, after my first actual day of working from home when I intended to work from home. It was kind of nice, though difficult to be productive (I have a gentleman with facial hair popping up to distract me all the time). Coop was pumped in the morning when I told him I wasn't going to work "Momma no go to work!" and we were able to spend some time together throughout the day (even when I was working, he was "working" next to me) and he just generally had mom around. Anyway, I was rocking him, and he said, in his sleepy little boy quiet mumble voice "No go downtown"... "Stay here with Mommy." Swoon.
