Summer Update

Here we sit... roughly halfway through the year, and ... wow! I can barely keep up with the posting. I have been giving it some thought, because there has been much worth posting about, but while there has been some pictures to commemorate it, there has definitely been less documentation of our days these days than days before. The reason, I think, is because I think I have finally settled into my new job, and in my new job, I am finally in a position to just BE PRESENT AND IMMERSE in our life. I don't have to participate vicariously via phone calls, text messages or after hours recaps. I don't have to put an "*" after all of our plans. I don't worry during "downtime" thinking about how I will have to make up that downtime later, because my life is no longer measured by the billable hour (billable tenth of an hour, to be exact). Sure, I mean, I still work, I still miss some things. I probably keep the same amount of office hours as I did in my past job... past life, but those hours are manageable and my work life is measured based on my work, such that the hours I am not at work are truly mine in a way they never were, and thus I can finally be truly here, and apparently, when I am here, I don't want to be in front of a computer talking about what we do/did... I just kind of want to be doing... BUT... after all that... I DO still want to put some stuff here, because this is where I go to look and remember... and maybe some day Cooper and Daph will too. So, as I try to make a better effort at this mid-year mark... I will make an effort to recap where we are on our summer since we are about halfway through that...

So, recall The List.

In case you couldn't read our awesome illustrated list, I will recap it here, with status updates (and, where available, PICTURES!!!!):

Times - Good, Bad and Mideival

It has been so long since I started this post...  I honestly can't remember what the "bad" times were...  So....

The good:

Cooper lost his first tooth!  While we were on a long weekend visiting a water park. When we got back, the tooth fairy came and it was veeeery exciting.

And then in 5 days he lost another one!  And by lost, I mean lost!  It came out and was put in a bag on our table... Then was (as of today) never seen again. Pretty soon the tooth fairy will end up with an IOU unless there is a miraculous recovery!  So very fitting with how things are in our house!

There have been many slumber parties. And maybe some of that could fit the "bad" times category because these two are a bit naughty when they get together and there have been MANY last chances. MANY.
But really... This "bad" is the best. They are adorable and I can't get too upset when daph gets out of bed for the thousandth time because she wants to tell me she loves me. Again.

And now for the Mideival Times:
Highly recommended way to spend Father's Day.

And we continue checking things off the list....
And ... three(?) weeks after I loaded the first photo for this post on blogger, this most recent weekend's pictures....
My absolute favorites in the world.

More to come ... You know, once we find that tooth!
