And it's summer. Lovely for all others in the family... More of the same for me. Sad.
Though, fortunately we are using weekends for some new types of fun... Like visiting other parts of Texas.
Like Austin. Where there are peacocks:
And army bases with real live cool stuff to check out and pose next to.
Or in front of.
Frozen is still BIG up in here. But the new thing we do is turn off all the lights, close the blinds, get our glow sticks ready, and dance party it in the dark.
Still making treats with my taste testers. Daphne is a very critical taste tester. She always needs lots of tastes to determine if it's good.
But the newest happening of summer 2014.... SLUMBER PARTIES!!!!
The first one was Saturday night courtesy of wet paint on Daphne's walls. It started in Cooper's room and migrated to the game room. Cooper on the futon, Daph on the trundle bed mattress we dragged from Cooper's room. We muted the TV and cranked up the monitor and listened to the cutest hour of Cooper telling Daphne "stories". Then they discussed what they wanted for Christmas. Cooper: a shirt, shoes, pants... Daphne: a snake. (A live one? Asked Cooper. Yes).
We had to go up twice to get them to sleep. The second night was in the game room but Daphne had to be moved to a pack and play. She wouldn't leave Cooper alone. She asked for a story and he said he would tell her one tomorrow. She screamed. He said he would tell her 100 stories tomorrow. She screamed. He ended up telling her the story about the Silly Gilly Gumball. We let them do one more night of it last night but only because we are weak and give in too easily.
Tonight, they are apart. Coop on his new bigger bed. Daph in Cooper's old day bed.
That's right.
June 2014 = end of crib.
Though Cooper went back and forth a bit during the transition so we are leaving it up for a while.
Thank goodness it keeps getting better or I would kind of want to cry right now.
Bye bye baby, girl. Welcome to big girl full sized slumbering.
