Calvin - August 2018 through October 2018

So, I started organizing the photos, and it made me realize that the moments captured in the pictures are quickly recalled, but where they fall in the timeline... well... not so much.

I am not sure if this was in this 3 month span that Cal began calling Daphne "NeeNee", but I know that everyone in the house more often calls her by her nickname now.  Yet another way Cal has permanently changed all our worlds.

I am pretty sure it was before this 3 months that Cal began singing a "Nanu" song when he was cleaning up, and I can confirm that we still say "Ok, Cal, it is time to nanu" when it is time to tidy up the room before bed.

Cal.  It's impossible to imagine life without him, but even though I cannot tell you exactly when, I know that lots of things changed courtesy of that little monster.

These pajamas are still in the rotation, even though they are quite small now, because they are one of the only pairs we could find that zip up but don't have foot covers - the desired combination for children with a fondness for stripping... and playing in their own poop.  We flip them around and zip them up the back, so he can't unzip them and take them off (mind you, he can still sometimes shimmy out through the neck hole... but this seems to usually be more effort than he is willing to put forth).

We have had to cut the foot off some other footie jammies for nights when the whale jammies are in the wash.

Oh man - look at those CURLS!  Lord do I miss those curls.  They belong on a baby's head.  They are proof he is still a baby!  Sadly, those curls are now gone.... but now I can see those beautiful blue eyes.  The eyes full of mischief.  The eyes of a toddler.

This child remains a mommy's boy.  If he needs a lap, he makes himself quite cozy in mine.

He is an avid reader.  Has been for quite some time.  This was before he had memorized all the words to "Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site" so that he could read to US before he went to sleep, but I believe this was a critical part of his training.

He LOVES Clementine.  With a passion of a thousand fiery suns.  And, bless her, she tolerates him without a scratch or bite.  None of us would blame her if she gave him a warning shot, but she is too sweet.

Cal LOVES arts and crafts.  His nanny does school work and an art project with him every single day, and we get to come home and see what amazing creations he has made.  He is always quite proud.  As he should be!

Spiderman is not just for Halloween.  Cal LOVES a costume...

He just generally loves playing dress up...

Girl Time: We Still Got It

And these are damn near current! From just the other night, even!

I love this girl more than you can even imagine.

Girl Time: Looking Back to February

So, I am a negligent blogger. And I honestly would just let it go, save the birthday letters marking the years as they go by, but then I look back at pictures of Cooper and Daphne from when they were Cal's age and think - OH MY GOODNESS, I MUST CAPTURE IT SOMEWHERE BECAUSE I ALMOST FORGOT THAT MOMENT UNTIL I WAS REMINDED SCROLLING THROUGH THIS THING. Thus, I am going to try to play catch up and post some old pictures... going back to last Fall/Winter even, with stories where I can remember them. But, I feel a bit out of shape at this, so am easing back in and starting with the low-hanging (but equally important) fruit, and adding to the Girl Time series with these series of photos from February.

Clearly, Superheros aren't cut out to be supermodels - they get called away to save the world mid photoshoot.
