How does this keep creeping up on me???
Here we are again. Another month down, another month closer to a full ONE YEAR. Sigh - excuse me while sentimentality sets in completely.
In all seriousness, little girl, time goes by so fast, because that is the speed at which you live. Fast.
Warp.
And here we all are, still trying to keep up.
Unlike me, when you see this picture:
you are probably not terrified. No, you probably see this as a challenge - like, when can I knock OVER that fence. You have started (as of today) pulling yourself up on things - not always, not consistently, but enough that it is now officially in your "wheelhouse" of things you can do that terrify your mommy.
Forget that you are already clearly smarter than I am, as proven by the million times I had to "practice" going "So Big" and lifting my hands in the air, when you could just sit there and look at me like I was so silly and then totally nail the move on your first try while I was at work the next day (not that I am bitter). Yes, we finally realized that there are certain things we should be doing with you, things other than saving you from yourself or saving Cooper from you. Things like practicing "bye bye" and waiving and "SO BIG!!!" Fortunately, despite our delayed teachings, you are quite a quick learner, and I anticipate you having these moves mastered in no time. Heck, you probably have them mastered now.
You have about 1293887878 teeth cutting through right now. And yet, you are quite cheerful (a very EXPRESSIVE cheerful, but cheerful) almost all the time. We try to give you Tylenol at night when things seem extra sore, but you resolutely refuse it. You will open your mouth, realize what is coming, then clamp it shut and turn your head from side to side, and if I get it in there and squirt the medicine into your mouth, you will wait until I take the dispenser out of your mouth and promptly spew it back on me.
Charming.
You are incredibly inquisitive and we are still having to watch you all the time, as you seem keen to go for whatever dangerous or inedible thing you can find and promptly try to put it in your mouth (be it a hair ball or a cat). You adore your brother and find almost everything he does to be hilarious. This is great, as he is in a real joke-telling place right now. You are like the laugh track on loop to his incessant one man show.
You respond the moment you hear my voice coming through the door when I get home at night. You crane your head and reach for me and quite honestly, hugging your brother and reaching out to scoop you up makes this so much more than perfect.
You blow the best raspberries of anyone I know, little girl.
I love you.
